This presentation will share the findings of 10 Action Research projects that demonstrate effective strategies to strengthen evaluation capacity building (ECB) in Ontario Public Health Units (PHUs). As part of an ongoing Locally Driven Collaborative Project (LDCP), 10 PHUs were recruited by the research team to test promising evaluation capacity building strategies within their units. This session will share the results and explore the benefits of using an Action Research approach.
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Define action research and distinguish it from other types of research.
- Describe 10 successful ECB projects that used an action research methodology.
- Identify key facilitators to implementing successful Evaluation Capacity Building initiatives
